Temporary Graduate Visa

A temporary visa that allows international students to live, study and work after you have finished your studies. It can have a duration from 18 months to 48 months depending on the eligibility. It is a great option for students who would like to extend their stay in Australia after their studies. It also helps those who are seeking to stay in Australia permanently – either through General Skilled Migration or employer sponsorship.
It has two streams:
1) Graduate Work stream
2) Post-study Work Stream

1) Graduate Work stream

This visa is for international students who have recently graduated with skills and qualifications that are relevant to specific occupations in Australia needs. It lets you live, study and work in Australia temporarily for 18 months.

General Eligibility Criteria

Age

You must be under 50 years of age.

Eligible Visa and Location

You must hold an eligible visa and have to be in Australia at the time of application and decision.

Australian study requirement

You must have met Australian study requirement in the past 6 months before applying for this visa. You should have been awarded a degree, diploma or a trade qualification. The qualification should be CRICOS-registered course of duration of two academic years of study ( 92 weeks) with at least 16 calander months presence in Australia.

Occupation on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List

The qualification must be closely related to an occupation on  Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

English

The applicant must be passport-holder of certain countries or must have an overall competent level of English language with no component less than sufficient English.

Skill Assessment

The qualification must be  assessed by a relevant assessing authority as having skills suitable for that occupation

2)Post Study Work Stream

This visa is for international students who have recently graduated with a degree from an Australian institution. It lets you live, work and study in Australia, temporarily. It has a duration between 2 and 4 years, depending on your qualification.
